Automatic VTO transition arrangements for old and new qualifications recognised for delivery of apprenticeships and traineeships apply for one month after the date of publication on the internet of a new or revised VTO in the Commissioners Information Bulletin (CIB).
This means that a newly enrolled trainee or apprentice can be enrolled in either the old or new qualification for one month after the promulgation of a new, revised or amended VTO.
The one month period provides time for technical and other issues to be resolved. RTOs will be funded for delivering either the old or new qualification during this month transition period. At the end of the period the old qualification can no longer be used for delivery of apprenticeship or traineeship training for new trainees/apprentices unless a request by an RTO for longer transition arrangements has been approved by State Training Services in special cases based on transparent criteria
